Civis is working closely with local partners to develop a new cultural institution and civic landmark in the historic Cuyler-Brownville community. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Cuyler-Brownville is one of Savannah’s oldest demographically intact neighborhoods and remains one of the city’s most economically challenged areas. While rooted in and responsive to this historic community, the Public Gallery is designed to serve Savannah on a city-wide basis.
The Public Gallery provides a platform for emerging local and regional artists and establishes Cuyler-Brownville as a welcoming cultural destination for all Savannahians. Through exhibitions, arts education, and public programs, it creates space for meaningful dialogue, shared experiences, and connections that strengthen the social and cultural fabric of the entire city.
